Supporter Spotlight: Mally Miceli

Mally Miceli

Mally Miceli has long been involved in the Elgin arts scene as a devoted attendee and supporter. We asked her about her involvement with the ESO and why the Orchestra is special to her.

When did you start attending Elgin Symphony Orchestra concerts?  And what made you interested in attending the ESO?

I’ve been a frequent attendee of ESO since the 1980s. The James Galway concert attracted me and there have been so many wonderful concerts over the years.

Why is the ESO special/important to you?

As a frequent attendee, what got my attention as a supporter was the wonderful way in which recently the ESO has become a community wide organization.

Do you have a favorite ESO concert or memory?

I have many wonderful memories of ESO concerts.  Several of the most recent ones are The Elgin Sing Along Messiah, the lovely Día de los Muertos concert, and Holiday Spectacular.

Why do you support the Elgin Symphony Orchestra?

The ESO is one of the most effective ways to include the entire community.  They work with the EYSO, EMC, the Latino music groups, many charities, and many other community groups.

Why is it important for people to donate to the ESO?

It’s very important for people to support the ESO and donate to this nonprofit organization that does so very much to include all our community in so many ways.  If we care about our community, which many of us do, we certainly make a positive impact by donating to the ESO.
