76th Season Announcement
Featuring George Gershwin’s Concerto in F, Pictures at an Exhibition, Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, and much more
From Batavia to Barrington, and most places in between, the community is responding enthusiastically to the burgeoning musical partnership between Chad Goodman and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.
Music Director Chad Goodman has crafted a season of vibrancy, bringing beloved works back to the stage after years of absence. Reflecting on the season’s development, Goodman shared, 'We asked ourselves, "What music do we care deeply about?" and "What’s important for the orchestra as we explore new territory, refine our technique, and deepen our musicality?"' The result is a season designed to inspire both the community and the orchestra, filled with performances that spark enthusiasm and rediscovery.
In “Season 3” you will enjoy 6 great programs featuring:
• George Gershwin’s jazz-infused keyboard masterpiece Concerto in F.
• Mendelssohn’s sunny “Italian” Symphony.
• Barber’s lyrical Violin Concerto alongside Brahms’ bracing Third Symphony.
• Gabriel Fauré’s haunting Requiem with the Elgin Master Chorale.
• Beethoven’s immortal Fifth Symphony.
• Ravel’s rich orchestral setting of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
